Situation

Imagine you are taking a flight from New York to Paris, one of the busiest air travel routes in the world. You get through the airport, get situated on your flight, and decide to take a quick nap after takeoff. 90 minutes later, you wake up on the tarmac in Paris. This dream is what Hermeus is aiming to make a reality. Since its foundation in 2018, the Atlanta-based company has been developing hypersonic planes that can fly 5 times faster than today’s commercial aircraft, crossing the Atlantic Ocean in 90 minutes and the Pacific Ocean in under 3 hours.

Struggles and Pains

While the planes Hermeus is designing will revolutionize air travel, the company’s manual employee lifecycle management process felt obsolete by comparison. Sysadmins kept getting bogged down in the process of extracting employee data, mapping and managing profile changes, and keeping profiles consistent between ADP and Active Directory (AD). As a result, they couldn’t keep up with the demand, new hires were onboarded slowly, terminated employees still had access to key systems and data, and the manual tasks demanded extra time and resources to be devoted. For Hermeus to solve these problems they needed to find an integration solution that could automate those tasks.

Resolution
