Situation

The Nature Conservancy of Canada is the country’s leading non-profit conservation organization committed to working towards the protection and restoration of natural, private, and civic land of Canada at every scale. This goal can only be achieved by taking a collaborative approach for sustained and effective land conservation efforts.  

To fulfill its mission of protecting Canada’s natural heritage and biodiversity, NCC continues to grow its team of passionate conservation champions and create the next generation of conservation leaders by expanding their Conservation Internship Program. As the organization grows, its team needs a comprehensive pre-built ADP to AD integration solution package to manage the employee lifecycle, user identity, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).  

Struggles and Pains

NCC currently employs around 400 conservationists and hires more than 60 interns every year. In the absence of a full-featured, pre-built solution, NCC would experience growing pains  wasting costly system administrator work hours solely to manage the repetitive, manual task of onboarding employees, applying access rules, and implement any additional policies over time. 

With its rapidly growing workforce, Nature Conservancy of Canada will continue to spend an increasing amount of time and money on creating hundreds of profiles, generating email addresses, and assigning licenses to make sure the new hires have the right access. These manual tasks will direct employee hours away from more meaningful work and obscure the central mission of NCC.  

Resolution
