Every day people across Canada dream of finding their perfect home. For many that dream remains out of reach due to the inflated cost of real estate. That is where Parkbridge Lifestyle Communities comes in. As the leading operator, developer, and owner of more than 55 residential communities and 35 recreational RV resort communities across Canada, Parkbridge has made it their mission to enrich the lives of Canadians by offering them cost-effective homeownership opportunities. With their innovative land lease option, they have made it possible to own a home without having to purchase the land on which it sits.
Parkbridge lifestyle has been commited to providing high-quality amenities and community services to homeowners since 1988. through continuous investments. This case study explores how they leveraged Hire2Retire to unify its HR and IT systems, eliminate manual provisioning bottlenecks, and create a foundation for secure, scalable workforce management.
As Parkbridge Lifestyle expanded rapidly from a few communities to a nationwide portfolio of nearly 100 properties, its employee base scaled alongside it, creating new complexities for the IT and HR teams. Onboarding and offboarding became increasingly time-consuming, with every new hire requiring account creation, security group assignments, and email provisioning, while every departure demanded timely deprovisioning to avoid security risks.
The company operated a hybrid identity model, with on-premises Active Directory. It required careful policies and synchronization to maintain consistent account management across environments. At the same time, HR relied on Ceridian Dayforce as the system of record, but because it was not integrated with AD, updates did not flow automatically into IT. This lack of integration led to manual work, delays, and potential errors. In short, manual provisioning consumed significant staff hours, slowed down onboarding, and introduced the risk of orphaned accounts.
CIOs and CTOs recognize that identity is the new perimeter in enterprise security. For Parkbridge Lifestyle, rapid expansion created a perfect storm of operational and security challenges:
Manual Provisioning Burden: IT staff were spending hundreds of hours per year on repetitive tasks: creating AD accounts, assigning security groups, generating email addresses, and validating access rights. Errors in username creation and email duplication were common, requiring rework and delays.
Data Mapping and Governance: Employee records in Ceridian didn’t directly map to Active Directory fields. For example, employee IDs were not consistently included in AD, making reconciliation difficult. Security group assignments depended on role, location, and department, requiring IT to interpret HR data manually.
Notification and Workflow Gaps: When HR onboarded or terminated employees, IT often found out late, resulting in slow account activation or accounts remaining active post-termination, an obvious compliance and security risk.
Hybrid Complexity: Parkbridge Lifestyle’s hybrid AD environment required identities to be managed consistently across both layers. Duplicate usernames in multi-property operations posed challenges in ensuring unique credentials while adhering to naming conventions.
Scalability Option: With each new property acquisition, the workload increased linearly. Without automation, IT would need to scale headcount just to keep up.
The pivotal requirement for Parkbridge Lifestyle was the seamless integration between Ceridian to AD. For CIOs and CTOs, this involved several critical technical considerations. First, accurate data mapping was essential to ensure that employee attributes such as first name, last name, department, and employee ID were correctly synchronized into Active Directory.
Second, security group automation needed to be in place so that roles and locations could dynamically drive access to file shares, applications, and business systems. A third priority was duplicate management, where automated logic would handle duplicate usernames and generate unique email addresses without requiring manual intervention.
RoboMQ’s Hire2Retire hybrid integration solution allowed Parkbridge to seamlessly integrate Ceridian and AD, automating their employee lifecycle management and identity provisioning process. It helped them:
Automate Account Provisioning: As soon as HR enters a new employee into Ceridian, Hire2Retire automatically provisions an Active Directory account, assigns licenses, and generates a corporate email address. The system includes built-in logic to resolve duplicate usernames and enforce consistent naming conventions, eliminating delays and manual intervention in the onboarding process.
Role-Based Access Assignment: With Hire2Retire, access management is fully automated and driven by employee attributes such as role, department, and property location. This ensures that every employee receives the correct security group assignments on Day 1.
Real-Time Notifications & Audit Trail: Hire2Retire provides automated alerts for critical lifecycle events including new hires, transfers, and terminations. Alongside notifications, it maintains a complete audit trail and detailed logs, strengthening compliance improving security.
Compliance risk reduction: Hire2Retire helped Parkbridge Lifestyle streamline procedure to remove terminated employees' access.
By integrating Ceridian to AD through Hire2Retire, Parkbridge achieved a seamless flow of workforce data across systems. The IT team moved away from repetitive, error-prone provisioning tasks and toward strategic initiatives aligned with business expansion.
