Granular Control in Hire2Retire’s Lifecycle-Specific Supervised Run Mode

As part of the Phase 8.3 release, Hire2Retire has added lifecycle-specific supervised run mode, allowing users to review and approve sensitive lifecycle updates.

Do you know how to find the balance between automation and control? Meet Alexis, an IT Administrator in a big law firm. She used to be overwhelmed at her job with lots of manual provisioning email requests, endless paperwork, and short-notice access changes until her management decided to opt for Hire2Retire to streamline user provisioning and lifecycle management. However, like any other cautious admin, she was worried about one concern! What if the system makes any unwanted changes? That is when she realized she could sweep away her worries with Hire2Retire’s lifecycle-specific supervised run mode option.

What is Lifecycle-Specific Supervised Run Mode?

Alexis needed Hire2Retire’s automation but feared losing visibility, which is why lifecycle-specific supervised run mode was her solution. Lifecycle-specific supervised run mode lets users apply granular-level oversight on their workflows by pausing automation for specific lifecycles. It works like a safety net to review changes before they go live.

How It Works

To set up lifecycle-specific supervised run mode, navigate to the “Review” page of your Hire2Retire workflow. The “Review” page will display all pending employee profile updates, and in the top right corner, you can toggle between the existing autopilot mode and supervised run mode at any time.
After defining the Run mode, you will be able to select the lifecycles to operate under supervised run mode and require manual approval.

By default, the “Select all” option will be selected. To enable the deploy button, the user must select at least one lifecycle under supervised run mode. When supervised run mode is active, you can select and approve pending employee lifecycle changes from the “Review” page. You can also choose between options for the interval at which Hire2Retire will send pending update notification emails.

Why Use Lifecycle-Specific Supervised Run Mode?

"I was using Hire2Retire's autopilot run mode since I don’t want automation to be restricted. However, my biggest nightmare was that while processing details for multiple employees, I gave Senior analyst-level access to an intern. Now with lifecycle-specific supervised run mode, I am at ease. It works as training wheels before someone is comfortable to go full autopilot", said Alexis in a conversation with our customer success team.

Alexis’ law firm was using Hire2Retire to streamline:
Employee hiring and onboarding operations: Create SharePoint and JIRA accounts or set up a company laptop
Employee role changes: Updating access and other details instance of Department or Role transfers
Employee offboarding: Terminations, revoking access
However, for sensitive updates like terminations or senior onboarding, they wanted a manual layer which is not very tiring. Hire2Retire’s supervised run mode offers automation with control. Until now, they were confused about whether to opt for autopilot run mode, which can process all employees automatically, and supervised run mode, in which they can manually approve or reject events. Now, with the release of Phase 8.3, they can decide to customize this for each lifecycle and can get the best of both worlds.

The Impact of Lifecycle-Specific Supervised Run Mode

Within a few weeks, Alexis’ team will be able to cut their employee automation tasks time by 40% while having a perfect blend of automation and control. They can fully customize for their use case, for example, keeping sensitive terminations supervised and department transfers automated.
Lifecycle-specific supervised run mode provides you with the balance between control and automation. Are you ready to find your balance? Book a discovery call today and see if Hire2Retire ticks all the boxes of HR- IT automation for you.
